Smile through your healthy feet

HEART needs loads of Tender Loving Care, so do your FEET! After all, your feet are workhorse of your body, taking on average 5,000 steps a day. That’s like going few times around the world during ones life span! Not to mention that feet have to bear the weight of your body every step of the way and standing.

Moreover, we cram them into footwear (Most of them are ill fitting) and stand for long periods of time. These hard-working feet deserve a little more attention than you’re probably giving them. Here’s what you need to know.

What kind of basic care do my feet need?

Just as you wouldn’t go a day without brushing your teeth you shouldn’t go a day without taking care your feet.

  • Check them daily for cuts, sores, swelling, dryness and infected toenails.

  • Give them a good cleaning in lukewarm water, but avoid soaking them because that may dry them out.

  • Moisturize them every day with lotion, cream, or petroleum jelly.

  • Avoid wearing tight-fitting shoes. Your shoes shouldn’t hurt your feet.

  • Skip the flip-flops and flats. They don’t provide enough support, stability and protection

  • Rotate your shoes so you’re not wearing the same pair every day.
  • Trim your toenails straight across regularly with a nail clipper. Then use an emery board or nail file to smooth the corners, which will prevent the nail from growing into your skin.
  • Prevent your feet from developing:
    • Corn and calluses
    • Wart
    • Sweaty feet
    • Athlete’s foot
    • Foot odor

In case if your feet develop above symptoms, please consult podiatrist at the earliest

Feet are foundation of your body and Healthy Feet are essential to last for life!
